HKSchoolPal is a free school finder for Hong Kong. Every school the Education Bureau registers is on it: 2,325 schools, kindergarten to secondary, in plain English.

Start with your child’s stage, then narrow by district, walking distance from an MTR station, funding, curriculum, language or session length, or tap the map. Each school page shows what that school publishes, with the source and the date it was checked. You can save schools with no account, and the guides cover the admissions routes.

One rule: a filter narrows by what you chose, never by what a school failed to publish. A school with no published fee still appears, marked as a gap.

The Hong Kong Education Bureau. HKSchoolPal carries its complete register: 2,325 schools across 18 districts, 997 kindergartens, 697 primary and 631 secondary. Every registered school, not a curated selection.

Names, addresses, sessions and funding types come from the Bureau’s school register, and kindergarten fees from the Kindergarten Education Scheme profile, a real figure for 952 of the 997. Fees, ages, photographs and contact details for international, Direct Subsidy Scheme and Private Independent schools come from the Bureau’s international schools directory.

Each school page names its source and the date it was checked. We never invent a figure: where a school has published nothing, the page says “Not published”.

Yes. You can search all 2,325 schools without an account, and I keep no record of who you are or which schools you looked at.

Your shortlist stays on your own device, kept by your browser. It never reaches me, and clearing your browser data clears it.

The one thing I hold is the beta sign-up list, kept only to contact those testers. It is closed, and those addresses come out once the testing is done. I don’t sell your data.

The privacy policy has the detail, including how to ask for a copy of your data or have it deleted.

HKSchoolPal is built for the phone. Open it in Safari or Chrome, tap Share, then Add to Home Screen. It gets an icon and opens full screen, without the browser around it.

At 7 months pregnant I went looking for a whole-day kindergarten place for my son: untranslated government forms, contradictory advice in WhatsApp groups, and fee figures that turned out to be wrong. I found a place only because a friend had already visited the schools.

The information is public, but getting to it depends on who you know. HKSchoolPal exists so it doesn’t have to.

A wrong fee on a school page is worse than no fee at all, so I would rather be right than quick.

Most are, but not all. The pins come from published coordinates, and some are approximate. Before you visit, double-check the location on the school’s own website. The points on the map are for reference only.
